Letters to the Editor: Received via email 7/10/03: Dude- You're wrong, and feel free to print this... bad spelling/typos/bad grammar and all (he says and swills his Pabst 16oz.er.): “Things Mainers can be "state-riotic" about... ...A list by the editor: -Electing the only Independent Governor in United States history (that's Angus King - the Governor before this one - for all you youngsters).” Hey....whaddabout Jesse Ventura (Ind - Minn.) .... just like angus...independent _and_ a Harley Davidson rider (if we look around hard enough I'll bet we can dig up pix of them together on HOG's). However, I dunno 'bout either of them being paddlers. And the thing about tiny ski mountains.....try skiing the midwest?...didn't think so. -Jeff (formerly from milwaukee...ya 'der hey) anybody wanna buy a Prijon Hurricane? Dear Jeff- You're right: Jesse Ventura is an Independent, now. However, while running for office “The Body” was a member of the Reform Party. Several folks (most claiming that I am a youngster) also pointed out that Jim Longley was an Independent, too. But, of course, since he was also governor of Maine, we are still the only state to elect an Independent governor. As far as the tiny ski mountains go, I suppose I have to ski it to believe it, and I believe Maine’s got the best. Later, -Nick |
