It was a wet and rainy day when we woke up for the first annual Father/Daughter Fishing Trip. Me and the Bingham Bum packed up the boat, cooler and all the secret fishing gear needed for the big rainy fishing trip. Nothing was going to stop us, not even Mother Nature. Two miles from the pond we had to put the ‘49 Willy’s in 4-wheel drive and then head down the rough and rocky trail to Lost Pond. Things had not changed from the last time I found the pond. The Bingham Bum was so excited when she saw Lost Pond for the first time. We unloaded the boat and gear within a minute and we were fishing before the loons woke up. Streamers were the choice of the day. The Bingham Bum had selected the Queen Bee, and for myself, the Grey Ghost was the first that I tried. The rain let up and the pond looked like a mirror, shaded by a nearby mountain. We had trolled around the pond once without a strike. As the loons woke up and started to feed, the mirror was broken when the first fish struck the Queen Bee. She set the hook and the fun began. She fought it like a real fisherman. |
